Topping:

Filling:

  • 5 Granny Smith apples, peeled and cubed
  • 1 tsp. Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. Vanilla
  • 2 Tbsp. Lemon juice

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • For the topping, mix oats and flour. Massage in butter (not melted) until you have a crumbly mixture. Set aside.
  • For the filling, mix cubed apples, cinnamon, vanilla, and lemon juice together in a bowl.
  • Place filling in an oiled cast iron skillet.
  • Layer the topping mixture over top, making sure it covers the apples completely and goes all the way to the edges.
  • Bake at 350°F for 50-60 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Serve warm with ice cream, if desired.
