Filling:
- 5 Granny Smith apples, peeled and cubed
- 1 tsp. Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. Vanilla
- 2 Tbsp. Lemon juice
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- For the topping, mix oats and flour. Massage in butter (not melted) until you have a crumbly mixture. Set aside.
- For the filling, mix cubed apples, cinnamon, vanilla, and lemon juice together in a bowl.
- Place filling in an oiled cast iron skillet.
- Layer the topping mixture over top, making sure it covers the apples completely and goes all the way to the edges.
- Bake at 350°F for 50-60 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Serve warm with ice cream, if desired.
